Mary Rose “Maria” Marascio, 92, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Fairmont, WV, following an extended illness.
She was born in Cenadi, Province Catanzaro, Italy, on November 9, 1932, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Concetta Destito Silvaggio.
Domenico and Maria, childhood friends, were married in Cenadi, on April 3, 1954, and after nearly 41 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on March 18, 1995. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister.
Mrs. Marascio is survived by her daughter, Antoinette “Toni” Williams and husband Tim of Clarksburg, her granddaughter, Mara Dudley and husband Matthew of Bridgeport; and two great grandsons, Domenick Dudley and Theodore Dudley. With the marriage of Tim and Toni, she gained Josh Williams (deceased), Hilary Williams and her twin girls, Gracen Phillips and Sydney Phillips Carpenter.
Mrs. Marascio was a devout Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a homemaker who loved her family, particularly her great grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting many friends and family dinners with her husband.
She was affectionately called Nonny by her granddaughter Mara, her friends, and family members. She loved attending her daughter Toni’s activities and most especially enjoyed going to all her granddaughter Mara’s dance practices and recitals at Romona Rose School of Dance. Most of the students, now adults, still fondly recall how they would go to Nonny’s house for extra dance practice.
Nonny will be sadly missed by her family and all of those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Renovation Fund, 150 S. Maple Avenue, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
