Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Thursday, January 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Avenue, Clarksburg on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Akila Rodrigo as celebrant.   Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Melina Louise Malfregeot, 89, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on January 7, 2018, at Bridgeport Health Care Center.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, on October 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Addison Powell and Jeanie Philipart Powell.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jules Malfregeot, on November 6, 2000.

 

She is survived by three sons, Richard P. Malfregeot and wife Donna of Clarksburg, J.B. Malfregeot and wife Ava “Bonnie” of Audra Park, and Thomas Malfregeot of Clarksburg; son-in-law, Joseph Oliveto of Clarksburg; six grandchildren, Richard Joseph Malfregeot, Thomas Malfregeot, Joseph Malfregeot, Josh Oliveto, Jenna Rose Williams and Matthew Oliveto; several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Malfregeot; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Oliveto, daughter-in-law, Jessica Malfregeot, grandson, Justin Michael Malfregeot; brother, Jack Powell; sister, Judith Dubecky; brother- in-law, Phillip Malfregeot and his wife Ellen Margaret; and brother-in-law, Marcel Malfregeot.

 

Melina was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, and graduated from Victory High School in 1946 where she was a cheerleader.  Along with her husband, she managed the Chatterbox in Adamston for several years.

 

Melina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family and friends first. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

The family extended a special thank you to Bridgeport Health Care Center.
