A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Patsy Wash as Celebrant.   In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Lucas will be cremated following the Mass. Private inurnment will be held by the family in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Michael George Lucas, 80, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 in a local nursing home.

 

He was born in Mt. Clare on March 1, 1938 a son of the late Mike F. and Anna Elizabeth Kosnick Lucas.

 

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jean Wolfe Lucas, whom he married on August 17, 1960.

 

Also surviving are his children, John Mark Lucas and his wife Nannette of Nutter Fort, Paul David Lucas, and his wife Kris of Quiet Dell, and Basil Franklin Lucas and his wife Tina of Clarksburg; six grandchildren, Mark Lucas, Kayla D’Anselmi and her husband Joseph; Brady Michael George Lucas, Justin Lucas, Brier Lucas and Anna Lucas; and three great grandchildren.

 

He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael George Lucas, II; one daughter, Kristi Ann Grimes; and one infant brother, David Lucas.

 

Mr. Lucas was a 1956 graduate of Victory High School and attended Fairmont State College. He was a Mill Wright in the glass industry, having worked for 13 years at Pittsburgh Plate Glass, and retiring from Fourco Glass with 25 years of service. He was an avid sports enthusiast, having coached little league baseball for the Knights of Columbus with 2 undefeated seasons. Mike loved the WVU Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

 

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home. 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, where a vigil service will be held at 3:30pm to conclude the visitation.
