Family and friends may call Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, on Thursday, October 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where a Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 pm by the Good Hope Chapter #109. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Elizabeth Baker presiding. Interment will follow in the Good Hope Masonic Cemetery.

Oleta M. (Reed) Post, 95, of Good Hope, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with loving family by her side.

 

Oleta was born March 19, 1923, daughter of the late James W. and Blanche E. (Smith) Reed formerly of Jane Lew WV. On May 20, 2010, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Straley O. Post, whom she married on June 15, 1946.

 

She is survived by three daughters, Charlene Cathell and husband John of Good Hope, Janie Kerrigan and husband Steve of Bridgeport, and Sharon Johnson and husband David of Canonsburg, Pa., four granddaughters, Krista Votaw of Charleston, Jessica Testman and husband Nathan of Charleston, Melissa Stocker and husband Rick of Indianapolis, IN, and Jennifer Edwardson and husband Patrick of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Also, four beautiful great-grandchildren, Tyler Testman, Alia and Waylan Stocker and Haddi Edwardson. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Virginia Eloise Albertson of Bridgeport and Donna Lou Post of Ravenswood; brother-in-law William Woodson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Post was preceded in death by five brothers: Elmer Reed, Jack Reed, Warner Reed, Leonard Reed and Joe Reed; and four sisters: Dora Smith, Nina Russell, Clara Finley and Emma Jean Woodson.

 

She attended New Bethel United Methodist Church, and was a member of Ladies Shriners Tefnet Court, Good Hope Chapter #109 Order of the Eastern Star (50 plus years), Rebecca Lodge and Women’s Club of West Milford. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida for 25 years and loved spending time with family and friends. Oleta is known for her cooking and baking.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in the form of monetary donations to New Bethel United Methodist Church, or to the charity of your choice, in memory of Oleta Post.

 

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Sundale Rehabilitation and Long Term Care and WV Caring Hospice Care for their support and compassionate care.
