Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood at 10:00 a.m. with Father D. Kent Durig as celebrant.

Paul Martin Strogen, 76, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, at the United Hospital Center.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, on March 27, 1940, a son of the late Martin S. Strogen and Mary Yankowski Strogen.

 

Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Louise Mihaliak Strogen, whom he married on July 30, 1965.

 

He is also survived by one son, Greg Strogen and his wife Twyla of Bridgeport, and one daughter, Krista Wilkins of Clarksburg; six grandchildren, Jacob Wickenhofer, Chandler Strogen, Nicholas Strogen, Kerilyn Wilkins, Padraig Kirkwood and Caden Shmigalsky; three brothers, Charles Storgen and his wife Patricia of Rollinsford, New Hampshire, Robert Strogen and wife Elizabeth of Gonic, New Hampshire, and Martin Strogen and wife Cathy of Williamsburg, PA; sister-in-law, Mary Jayne Strogen of Fairmont; a dear aunt, Helen Mihaliak of Stonewood; son-in-law, Shaun Kirkwood and wife Christy of Bridgeport; brother-in-law, Paul Mihaliak and wife Evon of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Kirkwood, his grandson, Ryne Kirkwood and brother, William Strogen.

 

Paul retired from PPG Industries as a Glass worker with 30 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Martha Mary Group of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
