Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.In keeping with his request, Mr. Sparks will be cremated following the visitation and Inurnment will be held in the Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.

Richard Allen Sparks, 51, of Clarksburg passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the United Hospital Center.

 

He was born in Galion, Ohio on February 3, 1969 a son of the late Frank Dodd and Dixie L. Valentine Dodd who survives in Clarksburg.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sharon Bradley Sparks, whom he married March 23, 2011; one son, Hunter VanHorn Sparks; four step-daughters, Gloria Beard and her husband Terence of Amhurst, OH, Linda Delaney of Clarksburg, Tonja Morrison and her husband Ryan of Salem, and Diana Robinson and her husband Matt of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Justin Marks, Thomas Robinson, Nevaeh Frame, Terence Beard, Braden Robinson, Myah Morrison and Rainelle Robinson; one brother, Frank Dodd of Buckhannon; three sisters, Dana Sparks of Clarksburg, June Westfall and her husband Don of Clarksburg, and Paula Boyles and her husband Paul; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by one brother, J. R. Sparks.

 

Mr. Sparks was a 1987 graduate of Liberty High School and was a foreman at Bridgeport Cemetery. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and anything outdoors, and was Protestant by faith.
