Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   The service will be held at the New Bethel United Methodist Church U. S. Highway 19, Good Hope on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Destry Daniels presiding. Mr. Farrell will lie in state one hour prior to the service.   Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Richard Lee Farrell, 72, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at his residence following a brief illness.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on April 25, 1946, a son of the late Robert and Mary Shreves Farrell.

 

He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Judy Darlene Goodwin Farrell, whom he married on September 10, 1966.

 

Mr. Farrell is also survived by one son, Ronald Farrell and wife Jessie of Harrisonburg, VA; one daughter, Melissa Overcash and husband Tim of Morgantown, WV; two grandchildren, Dakota Kirby and wife Chelsea and Logan Kirby; three step-grandchildren, Steven Stout, Christina Overcash and Ryan Taylor, and Chris Overcash; one great-granddaughter, Harper Kirby; six step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Stout, Sydney Stout, Rylan Stout, Madison Stout, Case Taylor and Cooper Taylor. He is also survived by one brother Ralph Farrell of Boothsville, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Williams.

 

Richard was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1966. He worked as a machinist for 42 years retiring from Pratt and Whitney with seven years of service.

 

Mr. Farrell was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Good Hope. He was also a member of the West Milford Lions Club, and Southern Harrison Sportsman for Christ. He was a Master Gardner and enjoyed woodworking.
