Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 11:00 am until the time of the service which will be at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Henry officiating. Interment will be in the Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery.

Richard O’Dell Regester, 90, of Bridgeport, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, May 22, 2017. He went peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard was born in Lost Creek on May 26, 1926 the son of the late Frank W. and Ella M. Pringle Regester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah M. Cochran and Virginia Reed, and also two infant siblings.
Richard resided in Bridgeport with his daughter Ann Osborne and her husband Terry, and four grandchildren, Heather, Justin, Joshua and Jonathon.
In addition to his daughter Ann, he is survived by 5 additional children, Raymon Chadwell and his wife Jodi of Martinsburg, Sherry Lunsford of South Carolina, Janet Greynolds and her husband Bob of Spelter, Paula Hornstein and her husband Stan of Virginia, and Lisa Fernandez of Clarksburg; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Richard was a proud member of the United States Army. He was a qualified Rifleman and a decorated officer having served during WWII and received the Victory Medal. He spent time overseas in Germany and France. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and went on to be a business owner and then a professional painter. Richard enjoyed working in his garden, watching his two favorite sports teams, West Virginia and Pittsburgh Steelers, and painting. But most of all, he loved his family.
At the age of 87, Richard received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and spoke of how different he felt and how he knew that Jesus was changing him and had accepted him, trusting that God would take care of him in this life and take him to Heaven.
