Obituaries

Robert Albert Dittman, 72, of Cowen, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on May 13, 1945, a son of the late Rudolph Ronald and Viola Alice Beck Dittman.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Mathiew Dittman; five children, Zoe W. Dittman Treovorrow and her husband David Lee of Cowen, Rudolph A. Dittman of Murphy, NC, Shenendoah Smith and her husband Jason of Cincinnato, OH, Raphael A. Dittman of Hampton, TN, and Cameron G. Dittman of Birch Rivers, WV; and six grandchildren, Sharaiah, Aiden, Mathias, Brayden, Tristan, and Aleah; and Quentin Durham, whom he considered a brother, and his wife Lilly and family. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Dittman Apgar.

Mr. Dittman was a United States Army Veteran and a retired truck driver. He enjoyed camping, hunting and spelunking, and was Christian by faith.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Dittman was be cremated. Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery at a later date.
