Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 am with Mike Rexrode officiating. Interment will be in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Shinn, 66, of Nutter Fort passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at his residence.

 

He was born in Clarksburg on June 27, 1953, a son of the late Richard A. and Margaret Jay Shinn.

 

Surviving are his long time companion, Shirley Courtney of Clarksburg; one son, Richard J. “Rick” Shinn and his wife Sabrina of Lynchburg, VA; one daughter, Rebecca L. “Becky” Barnes and her husband John of Good Hope; nine grandchildren, Ben Simmons and his wife Ashley of Chapel Hill, NC, Jeff Shinn, Brooke Shinn and Blair Shinn of Lynchburg, VA, Krislyn Bacchus-Burton and her husband Bobby, Ryan Bacchus and Megan Bacchus, all of Nutter Fort, and Brooklyn Barnes and Mya Barnes, both of Good Hope; three great grandchildren, Gaige Bacchus, Brantley Bacchus and Chandlar Bacchus; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Smith of Flemington; one niece, Tacy Goldsmith and her husband Jimmy and great niece Mia of Brandywine, MD; one nephew, Phillip “Flip” Elbon and his wife Barbara, and great nephew, Colt Elbon of Flemington, and great niece Katie Barker and her husband Luke of Fairfax, VA.

 

He was also preceded in death by one brother, William R. “Bill” Shinn.

 

Mr. Shinn was a 1972 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School and was employed as a school bus driver with the Harrison County Board of Education. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was Christian by faith.
