Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 am with Pastor Bryant Bailey officiating. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Robert Code “Cody” Tennant, 65, of West Virginia Avenue, Clarksburg passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

 

He was born in Clarksburg on October 12, 1954, a son of the late Howard and Nancy Cunningham Tennant.

 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Becky Miller Tennant, whom he married on May 31, 1974.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Tennant and his fiancé Alicia Starkey of Clarksburg, and Brandon Tennant and his fiancé Jessica Perine of Clarksburg; six grandsons, Alec, Isaiah, Logan, Landry, Noah and Camden; two granddaughters, Alyvia and Kamryn; four sisters, Nancy Heater and her husband Richard of Mt. Clare, Laurie Tennant of South Charleston, Sherry Tennant Swiger of Clarksburg, and Betsy Tennant and her long time companion, Butch of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was also preceded in death by one son, Gregory Lynn Tennant; and one brother, Carl Tennant.

 

Cody was a 1972 graduate of Washington Irving High School, a member of the Army National Guard for six years, and was a truck driver for B. F. Specialty. He was also instrumental in establishing the Clarksburg Area Florist with his sister, Betsy. Cody loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandsons and his dog Winston.

 

Anyone who knew Cody felt privileged to know him and knew how amazing and helpful he was.
