Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rodney Heckert presiding. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

Robert Franklin Nicholson, 73, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on February 5, 1944 a son of the late Robert W and Nina Mae Grose Nicholson

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Marie Shuttleworth Nicholson who he married on August 18, 1986 and resides at their home in Clarksburg. Also surviving are three sons, Robert F. (Nick) Nicholson, Jr. and wife Luann of Buckhannon, WV, Patrick Harris and wife Paula of Clarksburg, WV and Aaron Harris of Clarksburg, WV: three daughters, Roberta Colquicocha and husband Luis of Jupiter, FL, Tina Bumgardner and husband Shawn of Aliquippa, PA and Julie M. Nicholson and wife Amber of Bridgeport, WV; 11 grandchildren, Brittani Nicholson, Anthony Hardy, Zach Bumgardner, Haley Canter, Bethany Nicholson, Franklin Canter, Sarah Canter, Matt Bumgardner, Brandon Nicholson, Madison Colquicocha and Angelo Hardy; one brother, Gary Nicholson and Mary Jo of Lost Creek, WV and one sister, Karen Fortune and husband Douglas of Worcester, MA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson “Little Pat”; two sisters, Martha Buffey and Betty Irene Cox and one brother Warren Nicholson.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He retired from Wallace Motors after over 30 years as an auto body technician. He enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR racing and family time.
