Family and friends will be received at the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Mr. Wolfe will lie in state for one hour prior to the service, which will be held at on Saturday at 10:00 am at the church with Reverend Brian Boley officiating.  A bereavement dinner will follow the service at the church.     In keeping with his wishes, cremation services will follow the funeral.  Private interment will be held at a later date at the Stonewall Park Cemetery.

Robert Ray “Bob” Wolfe, 86, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Wolf Summit on December 20, 1930, a son of the late Arthur Ray and Ardith Lenora Swisher Wolfe.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Golden Wolfe, whom he married on October 18, 1951 in Oakland, MD.

 

Also surviving are his children, Robert Allen Wolfe of Clarksburg, Myra Ann Wolfe Jones of Clarksburg,  and adopted grandson, Jacob D. Wolfe; one granddaughter, Summer Ann Jones; four great grandchildren, Daniel Keith Jones, Sapphire Alesia Jones, Lilly Claire Wolfe and Luke Jeremiah Humphrey; one sister, Sandra Jean Wolfe Riffle of Clarksburg; a very special niece, Diane Cote; additional nieces and nephews, Annette Swiger, Gina Surock, Cathy Wood, Marilyn Brettner, Neil Wolfe, Jay Wolfe, Dan Wolfe, Jr., Sam Minardi, Brian Wolfe, Michael Wolfe and Danny Wolfe; one aunt, Betty Swisher of Palos Hills, IL; three sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Campbell (Pete) Wolfe of Clearwater, FL, Brenda Kroll (Don) Wolfe of Pinallas Park, FL, and Mary Ellen Murray Golden (Robert Dean) of New Cumberland, WV; and a special first cousin, Sylvia (Peggy) Wolfe.

 

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Pete and Don Wolfe; one nephew, Dave Wolfe; and one brother-in-law, Dale Riffle.

 

Bob was an outdoorsman who loved boating, hunting and fishing.  He loved going to his Sardis farm with his family and friends, especially his sons, Bobby and J. D. and his special friend Joe Kopshina.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR Races and was a fan of Jeff Gordon. 

 

He was employed as a pipefitter for Union Carbide Corporation having retired with 30 years of service.  During these years, he was very much involved with the company, having served on the Board of Directors of the National Carbon Credit Union.  He was president of the bowling league for two years, and also served on the Activities Committee which provided for and helped plan their yearly picnics and wonderful Christmas parties, along with many other events.

 

Bob was a member Clarksburg Lodge No. 482 B.P.O. Elks, the Clarksburg Lodge No. 52 Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church.
