In keeping with his request, Mr. Carey will be cremated.   There will gathering of family and friends at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm with Rev. Kevin Bender officiating.   Interment will be private in the Bridgeport Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Ronald Clement Carey, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Jeanette, PA on June 7, 1935, a son of the late Charles “Smokey” Guy and Eleanor Anna Walter Carey.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jo Andre Carey on November 27, 2014, whom he married on June 10, 1956.

 

Surviving are three sons, Bruce Carey and his wife Pam, Clarksburg, Mike Carey and his wife Cheryl, Morgantown, and Scott Carey and his wife, Patty, Bridgeport; 10 grandchildren, Megan Carey, Kelly Baker and her husband Roger, Chris Carey and his wife Erica, Chelsy Smith and her husband Wellington, Craig Carey, Chelby Carey and her fiancé Nick Dyer, Sean Carey, Kayla Carey, Jason Carey and Justin Carey and his fiancé Brittany Abruzzino; four great grandchildren, Isaac Baker, Caden Carey, Cameron Carey and Sloane Smith; and one brother, Charles Carey, II and his wife Karen of Clarksburg.

 

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Patty Burr.

 

Mr. Carey was a United States Army Veteran and was a retired brick layer with Union Carbide Corporation.  He was a member of the Brick Layers Union Local #15, a member of the Christ Church United Methodist and was an avid sports fan.
