It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosalee Ann Jordan, who entered eternal rest on June 14, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on May 29, 1940, in Clarksburg, WV, Rosalee was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Rosalee was the cherished daughter of Pete and Anna (Nardelli) Iquinto. She grew up in Clarksburg and graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School. Rosalee married John “Butch” Jordan in 1965, and together they raised two children, Leanna Lewis and John “J.J.” Jordan.
A devout and faithful Catholic, Rosalee was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Clarksburg, WV, where she loved attending Mass, praying the Rosary, and had been very active in church choir and other church activities for decades. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in all she did. Rosalee was known for her kindness, generosity and devotion, and she touched the lives of many. She was a caring and generous person who always put others first and loved helping others.
Rosalee was well known for having worked at Palace Furniture in Clarksburg as well as Union National/Chase bank for many years, but she most cherished her work as a mom to her children, Nunnie to her grandchildren, and “Aunt Rosie” to her nieces and nephews.
Rosalee was directly involved with Harrison County Catholic Schools for decades and had been a former member of the Harrison County Catholic School Board. She was a longtime volunteer and supporter of St. Mary’s Grade School and Notre Dame High School where she, alongside her husband and dear friends, raised funds to replace St. Mary’s stage curtain, decorated for countless homecomings, proms, athletic banquets and academic banquets, and organized numerous fundraising events for St. Mary’s and Notre Dame. Rosalee was honored with the NDHS Principal’s Award in 1993 as well as NDHS Athletic Supporter plaque from Coach Basile. She was also the 2024 Irish Legends Award recipient.
Rosalee was also honored to have run the Minor Court for the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival for more than 40 years. She was recognized as 2003 Volunteer of the Year by the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival and was also honored with the 2023 Woman of Distinction Award by the Progressive Women’s Association of Harrison County.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her husband Butch. She is survived by her beloved brothers, Louis and Pete, whom she adored. She is also survived by her children, J.J. and his wife Melissa and Leanna and her husband Chris, and her grandchildren, Hayden, Caroline, Annagrace, Brady and Conner, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces. She was also preceded in death by her very special nephew, Anthony, whom she loved just like one of her own children. She will also be missed by her numerous friends and extended family.
