Obituaries

Rosalie Virginia Kerns, 86, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018. She was born in Bloomery, WV on August 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Harvey Oakland and Mary Thelma Rohe Kerns.

Twice married, she was preceded in death by her fist husband, Orron Abrell, and also her second husband, Leonard Kerns.

Surviving are five sons, Douglas Abrell and his wife Wilma of Paw Paw, Lonnie Abrell of Paw Paw, Timothy Abrell and his wife Kathy of Paw Paw, Terry Kerns and his wife Megan of Anmoore, and Norman Kerns and his wife Neva of Lumberport; four daughters, Virginia Richison and her husband Jeff of Anmoore, Leonard Howell and her husband David of Wallace, Victoria Kerns of Anmoore, and Rebecca Heldreth and her husband Doug of Clarksburg; 24 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Vernon Kerns of Bloomery, WV, and David Kerns of Romney, WV.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Boyd Abrell; one daughter, Mary Belle Abrell; one sister, Nancy Turner; and two brothers, Robert and Huck Kerns.

Family and friends may call at the Giffin Funeral Home, 2807 Northwestern Pike, Capon Bridge, WV 26711, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm where funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Bloomery Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
