Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, December 20th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 126 E. Pike Street, Clarksburg, on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone as celebrant. Per his request, cremation services will follow.

Russell G. Straface, 68, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Morgantown, WV, on July 14, 1949, a son of the late Russell A. and Dora V. Baker Straface.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Virginia Kelley Straface, whom he married on September 18, 1971.

Mr. Straface is also survived by two children, Brandy Marie Straface of Clarksburg and Jeffrey David Straface and wife Kim of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Isabella Grace Bovino and Alex Julian Bovino; one sister, Tammy Straface Strong and husband Jamie of Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law, David Kelley and wife Joey of Morgantown, WV; sisters-in-law, Nancy Kelley of Terra Alta, WV and Julie Kelley of Cumberland, MD; several nieces and nephews and his sidekick, Emmie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Dennis Straface.

Russell graduated from St. Francis High School in Morgantown. He grew up in Star City and started his banking career in 1970 in Morgantown. He moved to Clarksburg with Union National Bank in 1974 where he worked until 1996. He then went to Harrison County Bank and was serving as Vice President and Branch Manager for the Bridgeport Office until his recent illness.

Russell was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Clarksburg Columbian Club and a former member of the Bridgeport Rotary.
