Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.   The service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend George Bramble presiding.   Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Shirley Velra White, 76, of Mt. Clare, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the United Hospital Center following a brief illness.

 

She was born in Dianna, WV, on December 11, 1940, a daughter of the late Junie and Phyliss Williams Cutlip.

 

Shirley was married to Charles “Charlie” White on July 20, 1960, who resides at their home in Mt. Clare.

 

Surviving are four sons, Rodney White and wife Cindy of Falls Run, Randy White of Craigmoor, Mike White and wife Wanda of Buckhannon Run and Ryan White and wife April of Lenoir, NC; and one daughter, Katrina Ewing of McWhorter.  She was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and three extended grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, Keith Cutlip and wife Charlotte of Reynoldsville; three sisters, Jean Taylor of Wolf Summitt, Mary Lee Cutright of Clarksburg, and Myra Grimes and husband Pat of Boothsville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Doran Cutlip and Harold Cutlip.

 

Shirley was a graduate of Victory High School Class of 1959 and a homemaker.  She was a member of the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church, the Quiet Dell Garden Club and the Mt. Clare Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed attending the 1959 Victory High School monthly meetings, and spending time with family and friends.
