Susan Darlene Messenger, 68, of Lumberport, WV passed away on July 4, 2023.

Susie was born in Clarksburg, WV on March 30, 1955, the daughter of the late Gail Leonard Messenger and Frances Eleanor Powell Messenger of Dunedin, FL.

Also surviving are sons, Brandon Davis of Clarksburg, WV and Chris Davis of Lumberport, WV: brother, Rodney Messenger and wife Sharon and their three daughters, one son and grandchildren of Mulberry, FL: brother, Derek Messenger and wife Donna of Burnsville, NC: brother, Gail Messenger of Overland Park, KS and his three daughters and grandchildren: sister, Gwen Hull and husband Richard and their two daughters and grandchildren of Dunedin, FL: sister-in-law, Ethel Messenger and her two daughters, one son and grandchildren and longtime friend of 25 years, Greg Holden, of Clarksburg, WV.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Allen Messenger.

Her younger years were lived in East View, WV and Nutter Fort, WV. She was a 1973 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School. Susie was an accomplished artist, winning awards for her beautiful oil paintings of West Virginia scenes. She shared her love of art by offering art lessons to senior citizen groups in Clarksburg. Most recently, Susie was an entrepreneur who loved decorating her business “Our Market”. Susie co-owned “Our Market” with Greg Holden which was first located in Shinnston, WV and later moved to Bridgeport, WV.

A private burial will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery.
