Tammy Dianne Purnell, 55, of Clarksburg passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at her residence.

She was born in Clarksburg on July 28, 1969, the daughter of Brenda Dianne Shearer who preceded her in death in 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Andrew and Deloris June Shearer, by whom she was raised; and one niece Hannah Belle Dolan.

She is survived by her younger brother, Tom Purnell, her oldest sister, Melissa (Missy) Satterfield and her husband James (Jimi), and her youngest sister, Gynger Dolan and her husband Jonathon, all of Clarksburg.

Tammy’s whole heart belonged to her five nephews and one niece, Ezra (girlfriend Matti), Evan (girlfriend Michelle) and Sophia Dolan, and Dylan, Riki and Franky Satterfield.

She loved her dear friends, Chelsie, Abby and her best friend and cousin, Sharon Bragg.

Tammy was a local DJ personality and was on air for WKKW, WPDX, WTUS, and absolutely loved WOBG. She was also manager at American Home Health Care until 2015. She worked locally as a beautician for several years. Tammy loved all genres of music, watching live theater, performing karaoke and watching her favorite TV show, Blue Bloods.

Tammy’s favorite saying that all the kids laughed about was “When I worked on the radio stations….” and then you got a story.

This is not “GOODBYE”. It’s how much we LOVED HER, and her memories will be in our hearts FOREVER. It’s “until we meet again”.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

In keeping with her wishes, Tammy will be cremated following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506, or to the American Cancer Society, 122 High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.
