Terry Allen Cross, Sr., 66, of Elkins, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Mon Health Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Terry was born on June 26, 1958 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Eugene Arden Cross and Emma Jean Stevens Browning.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Hess Cross.
He is survived by his three children, Rebecca Tolson and husband Steven of Elkins, Patricia Nay and husband Jake of Clarksburg and Terry Cross Jr. and wife Angel of Elkins; eight grandchildren, Bucky McIntire and wife Katrina of Clarksburg, Autumn McIntire of Elkins, Shelby Whaley of Clarksburg, Katie Eakle of Elkins, Jonathan Campbell of Elkins, Faith Cross of Elkins, Johnathan Nay of Wheeling and Aleia Nay of Wheeling; five great-grandchildren, Izzabella McIntire, Nova Whaley, Hudson Whaley, Jeremiah McIntire and E.J. Sendling; three siblings, Mike Cross and wife Bonnie of IL, Scott Cross and wife Sherry of Parkersburg and Pamela Lockhart of Clarksburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Michael McIntire; sister, Carol Devericks; brothers-in-law, Floyd Lockhart and Charles Devericks.
Terry spent his career as a carpenter for White’s Lumber in Fredericksburg, VA. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Clarksburg Auxiliary 2353 as well as Reynoldsville Baptist Church. He loved to fish and enjoyed hunting. He never met a stranger and was outgoing. He will be remembered fondly for his ornery personality. Above all, he was a devoted father and adored his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Cross will be cremated.
