Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.   Per his request, Mr. Hartman will be cremated following the visitation.   Private interment will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Thomas H. Hartman, 93, of Pennsboro, WV, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, on June 16, 1924, a son of the late Halstead Hallie and Cecilia Healy Hartman.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 28, 1995, Thelma Irene Gatrell Hartman, whom he married in 1955.

 

Mr. Hartman is survived by one son, Thomas H. Hartman and wife Cheryl of Pennsboro, WV; three grandchildren, Shawn Hartman, Mary Bartlett, and Josh Bartlett; one great grandson, Corey Hartman; one brother, John B. Hartman of Dearborn Heights., MI; as well as two nieces, Maria Kay and Nancy Ann.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Hartman.

 

He was a graduate of Washington Irving High School Class of 1942, and a veteran in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 42 years of service.

 

Thomas was Catholic by faith. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, VFW Post 543, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and Cape Credit Union.

 

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Private interment will be held at the Bridgeport Cemetery.
