Victors final wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest next to his beloved brother, Frank “Jughead” Gentilozzi at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Graveside Catholic Funeral Rites will be celebratd on April 29, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Cemetery with Father Patsy Iaquinta as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

Victor Gentilozzi Jr., departed this life on Friday, March 1st, 2019 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born in Clarksburg at the Union Protestant Hospital on April 29, 1937, a son of the late Vittorio and Costanza Lover Gentilozzi.

He is survived by two sons, Joe Gentilozzi and his wife Traci of Lansing, Michigan, and Tim Gentilozzi and his wife Melanie of Clarksburg. One daughter, Jacqueline “Peachie” Sheffield and her husband Tracy of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. His beloved grandchildren, Bella, Frank, Ursula, Maya, Annalise, Estelle, Jack, and Sam. Also left to cherish his memory is his longtime companion, Linda Cowgill of Bridgeport; two step sons, Charlie Sawyers and his wife Robin of Clarksburg, and Scott Sawyers and his wife Tracie of Charlotte,NC along with several step grandchildren.

Victor was the youngest of five and was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by Virginia Angiulli, Mary Carafelli, Albert E. Gentilozzi, and Frank J. Gentilozzi. He was also preceded in death by one step son, Michael Sawyers.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served his country with great pride for four years. He was a proud resident of Glen Elk for many years. He graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1955 and went on to graduate from Fairmont State College. He devoted his career to the aluminum industry having retired from Precision Coil.

Victor was dedicated to all things Italian. He spent hours mastering the language. He was an avid golfer and his favorite course was Bel Meadows. He loved good food, gardening, and spending time every winter with Linda in Clearwater, Florida. He was Catholic by faith.
