Victor Linn Stemple, 81, of Clarksburg passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the VA Medical Center.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 3, 1937 the son of the late James A. Stemple and Dessie Linn Stemple.

He is survived by three sons, Jimmy Stemple of Clarksburg, WV, Barry Stemple and wife Connie of Lost Creek, WV and Terry Stemple of Burlington, KY; one daughter, Tammy Skinner and husband Timmy of Mt. Clare, WV; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Stemple of Clarksburg, WV and Conrad “Connie” Stemple and wife Chumhi of Korea and four sisters, Mary Mick of Mt. Clare, WV, Maxine McCartney of Ohio, Murhl Blessings and husband Lou of Virginia and Johnny Wood of Virginia.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Levi Skinner, four brothers and two sisters.

Victor served his country with 20 years in the United Sates Marine Corps, serving Viet Nam and retired from the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center VAMC in the supply department with 20 years’ service. He was a Methodist by faith, a member of Meuse Argonne Post #573 VFW and American Legion Post #13.

A special thanks to the staff of the Louis A. Johnson VAMC for their kindness and care.

Per Mr. Stemple’s request, he will be cremated. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
