Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. where a Vigil service will be held to start the visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 126 E. Pike Street, Clarksburg, on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Casey Mahone as Presider. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Virginia Eloise Post Albertson, 92, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah, WV.

 

Mrs. Albertson was born in Copen, WV on October 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Omar Art Post and Estella Straley Post.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frederic Sidney Albertson, who passed away on October 10, 2004.

 

She is survived by her son David Albertson of Clarksburg; daughter Catherine Tricase and husband Anthony “Chief” of Clarksburg; daughter-in-law, Debbie Albertson of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Chris Albertson and wife Julie, Jeff Albertson, Ryan Albertson and wife Ashley, Christa Tricase Shafer and husband Kevin, Elizabeth Tricase, Anna Tricase Harris and husband Aaron and Sam Tricase; fourteen great-grandchildren, Leyton, Reilly, Rory, Liam, Rylan, Alex, Tyler and Kelsie Albertson, Tre Sawyer, Kyra and Brenna Shafer, Lucy Faix, Lilanna and Weston Harris; sisters-in-law, Donna Lou Post of Ravenswood, WV and Margaret Albertson Jurick of Chesapeake, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Albertson was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her son Charles Frederic Albertson; eight brothers, Glen W. Post, Charles A. Post, Straley O. Post, Allen L. Post, Ordie A. Post, Junior A. Post, James Carlton “Buddy” Post and Donald E. Post; three sisters, Pearl James, Mae Smith and Catherine Ratliff.

 

Virginia was a graduate of Burnsville High School. While raising her children she also went to work for Buick Motors for ten years where she worked in bookkeeping and accounting. She then became office manager and bookkeeper for Dr. Marks and Dr. Momen. She was an active mother at St. Mary’s Grade School and Notre Dame High School. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir.

 

Mrs. Albertson’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Mary Wilson and several other caretakers who were dedicated to Virginia’s treatment. Also, to Golden Harvest Personal Care Home in Bridgeport, WV.

 

A special thank you to St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah, WV for the exceptional care and attention given to Mrs. Albertson.

 

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Virginia’s memory to St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home, P.O. Box 9066, Monongah, WV, 26555-9066.
