Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Sunday, August 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where the service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joel Randolph presiding.   Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Vonda V. Bowser Shepherd, 86, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Bridgeport Health Care Center.

 

She was born in Crellin, MD, on December 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Cecil S. and Jamain Gooding Bowser.

 

She was married on July 29, 1972, to Paul Vincent “Farmer” Shepherd, who preceded her in death in 2006.

 

Mrs. Shepherd is survived by two children, Sherall L. Benson and husband Robert of West Milford and Connie D. Drvar and husband Nickolas of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Michele Mace and husband Shannon, Jennifer Shuman and husband Jesse, Mark Benson, Nicole Golden and husband Robert, Ashley Wolfe and husband Steve; and five great grandchildren, Shelby Shuman, Alexandria Golden, Olivia Golden, Brady Wolfe, and Cole Wolfe.  Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, William Bowser of North Fort Myers, FL, Patricia Boggs and husband Clyde of Booth, WV, and James Bowser and wife Pamela of Morgantown; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Brownfield, Betty K. Day, and Rebecca June Osborne; and brother Robert G. Bowser.

 

Vonda was Methodist by faith and co-owner of S & S Landfill.
