There will be no public visitation and per his request, he will be cremated. A public graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with full Military Honors Accorded and Pastor John Koerner presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or a charity of their choice.

Wallace Downey Craig, Jr. of Bridgeport passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Fairmont, WV the son of the late Wallace D. Craig, Sr. and Anna Gertrude Hagan Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Constance Jean Spino Craig whom he married on July 29, 1961. Also surviving are one son, Kim Craig and wife Deb of Morgantown, WV; two daughters, Cathy Wilson and husband Byron of St. Leonard, MD and Robin Brannon and husband Pete from Fredericksburg, VA, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three older sisters.

He attended Greenbrier Military Academy and the Manlius Military Academy where he graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant and was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He worked for his family’s business for many years, Craig Motor Service and was owner and operator of State Motor.  Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
