Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Peggy Williams presiding. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.

Betty Lu Carpenter Morrison, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on March 5, 2016 at the United Hospital Center.

She was born in Taylor County, WV, on March 25, 1933 a daughter of the late Hurley Carpenter and Hazel Stansbury Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gilbert Morrison whom she married on August 27, 1948.

Also surviving are six children, Penny L. Beale and husband Thomas of Vallejo, CA, Yvonne S. Mason and husband Mark of Salem, VA, Tanna C. DeGroot and husband Bruce of Morgantown, Kurt C. Morrison and wife Kathy of Clarksburg, Pamela L. Wright of Clarksburg and Leatriona J. Kennedy and husband Thomas of Clarksburg. She was grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Toni D. Norman and husband Erick, Thomas A. Beale Jr., Shannon R. Fox, Ashley B. Walker and husband Wesley M., Venus D. Dlugos and husband Evan, Amber B. Muir and husband Scot, Bruce M. DeGroot Jr., Lauren K. Morrison, Carter R. Morrison, Anthony L. Gallo, Ralston C. Kennedy, Tanner G. Kennedy, and Gavin T. Kennedy; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Betty’s caregivers, her niece, Patty Shaw, Robin Byrd, Cathy Riley, and Kim Demeester.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Corby Carpenter, Edna Snyder, Jean George and Mary Prieto.

Mrs. Morrison was a homemaker and a member of Connecting Point Community Church. She enjoyed yard sales, antique shows playing bingo, and most of all loved spending time with her family.
