Charles Phillip “Chuck” Hoskins, 66, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Morgantown, WV, on October 19, 1951, a son of Frances Walker Hoskins of Morgantown, and the late Ralph Sullivan Hoskins.

Chuck was married on January 29, 1977, to his loving wife of 41 years, Patty L. Exline Hoskins, whom he called “Miss America”.

He is also survived by one son, Gregory Phillip Hoskins and wife Tiffany JoLynn of Mt. Clare; three grandsons, Grant Hoskins, Gabriel Hoskins and Gatlin Hoskins; and one brother, Carl Edward Hoskins and wife Debra of Morgantown.

Chuck was a graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1972, and worked for Eagle Convex Flint Glass Company for over 15 years as a Laborer.  He was formerly employed with Wilson Bakery, Bath Fitters, Clarksburg Exponent, and Infocision.

Chuck helped to establish the Christian Apostolic Church in North View in 1975, and served as assistant pastor from its beginning and continued to serve until his passing.  He was a loyal family man, called his mom every day, and loved to preach and reach lost souls.  He loved rooting on the Mountaineers, and especially loved caring for his grandchildren who fondly referred to him as “poppie” or “poppers”.  He will be sadly missed by his family and all of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends may call at the Christian Apostolic Church, 334 Glen Falls Road (Arlington Addition), Clarksburg, on Monday, March 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Doug Joseph presiding.
