I am very sorry to hear of Maurice\'s passing. He was also a friend of my father\'s and I have a quite a few memories of him, his business and the great people that spent so much time there. My father took me everywhere he went when and I was young, and stopping to see Maurice was one of those frequent stops. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time. I planned on visiting you at rehab as soon as I got back to WV. How disappointing that God had other plans but how heartwarming to know that your suffering has ended. We never want to lose our loved ones but it is enivitable that the time will come. I don’t believe YOUR community was ready to lose you Maurice - I know I wasn’t. ..... You were always supportive and trusting to me in everything I did. You believed in the goodness of us all - you were also wise enough to know and understand the bad or the struggles of those who were struggling in their lives. Your “home” was our “home”. We created many memories of good times there. We were lucky to have you and “Maurices” in our lives. I cherish our conversations and time together. “I Love This Bar- They Know Who You Are”. A tribute to you Maurice. We’ve sang it to you often. You will be missed....Reni -made a long story short - just for you..... Love and miss you. Your work on earth is done...

I still can’t believe your gone. I can still picture my aunts and mom sitting at “their” table. I can still see my dad sitting at his bar stool and seeing you sitting at yours. Being back here without everyone. I love you Uncle Maurice and always will

My dearest brother How I am going to miss you .. Our family loved hearing you tell your life story so I will pass it on..You were born and raised in SP and some of you earliest memories were working in the garden with our grandpa William T Ashcraft.. The garden was located on the right as you started up Jack Run .We also called it Cabo's cow pasture.. You would go to the Joe Rock home place with Amiel and Mrs Rock would make you hot chocolate on a coal stove...You picked berries by the waterbuckets. You and other boys would ride the railroad tie on the back of Bab Barkers truck to grade the ballfield.. And then on those hot days of summer you and many kids from SP would walk over Wolfs Hill to go swim in Palmers Lake...Hand putting up pins at the bowling alley..Always working ..And then you became the GO TO person of our family and so many friends always giving the best advice... You recently told my kids that I was the spoiled one in our family...well you also told them that you brought me a Hershey bar every Friday after work...You were a big part of that.. I love you and oh how I am going to miss you .. I am all packed and ready to make this trip again .And yes I have that "Country Roads " humming in my head ...This is a heartbreaker And until we meet again ...I LOVE YOU
