  Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm,   Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Bonnie Starkey officiating.   Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Everett Alan Burrows, 76, of Nutter Fort passed away suddenly on September 7, 2016.  Alan was born February 11, 1940 to Everett Earl and Joan Lynch Burrows in Clarksburg, WV.

 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlene Petrovich Burrows, and also by three daughters, Debra Means and Suzan Belvin of Durham, NC, and Mary Jackson of Katy, TX; six grandchildren, Joshua Jackson of Whitehouse, TX, Zachary Jackson and Kari Dixon of Katy, TX, Alexis Means US Army Fort Bragg, NC, Marcus Means of Alabama, and Ellie Belvin of Durham, NC; two great grandchildren, Jay Dixon and Madison Jackson of Katy, TX; one sister, Marie Kelley and her husband George of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Brent Burrows.

 

Mr. Burrows was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School class of 1959, and was retired from Monongahela Power with 34 years of service as a lead mechanic.  Alan was a member of the Harrison County Stamp Club, Stonewall Jackson Coin Club, and Appalachian Blacksmiths Association.  He loved yard sales, flea markets and every animal.

 

Mr. Burrows was a member of the Vincent Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a Trustee and a member of the Methodist Men.

 

Alan will always be loved and forever in our memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics (sowv.org) and/or the Humane Society (aspca.org).
