Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastors Justin Matheny and Bill Lanham presiding. Entombment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Arthur “Art” Singleton, 79, of Laurel Park, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026 at the Autumn Lake Health Care Center in Elkins, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Jane Lew on January 25, 1947, a son of the late Ralph Leslie and Eva Madeline Messenger Singleton.

Art married Norda Faith Conner Singleton on April 1, 1971. She survives at their home in Laurel Park.

Also surviving Art are two sons, Ervin Dale Singleton of Newark, OH, and Alan Shane Singleton and wife Theresa of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Loran Singleton, Noca Cutlip, Shandi Singleton Irons, Caitlin Skeese, and Jeffrey Harr; nine great-grandchildren, Preslee Prescott, Maci, Connor and McKenna Skeese, Everleigh and Eliana Cutlip, Daluca and Lynkin Irons, and Kye Harr; one brother, David Singleton and wife Norma of Jane Lew; one sister-in-law, Judy Singleton of Shinnston; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by five brothers, Richard, Frederick, Oran, Charles, and Joe Singleton; one sister, Agnes Wilfong; and three infant brothers.

Art was a 1966 graduate of Jane Lew High School. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and was also stationed in Germany from 1966-1969. Following his active-duty service, he spent 24 years in the Army Reserves. Art later worked as a manager for Garden Fresh for 14 years.

He enjoyed crafting with his wife, Norda, and loved hunting, camping and traveling to visit his family.

Art was Protestant by Faith and attended United Evangelical Mission Church since 2008, where he was an active member and the superintendent for 8 years.
