Obituaries

George Arden Wheeler, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his residence.  He was born in Lost Creek on February 20, 1934, a son of the late Lester Buck and Nora Belle Kelly Wheeler.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Southall Wheeler; three daughters, Pamela Jane Marks and her husband Johnnie of Clarksburg, Patricia Davisson of Clarksburg, and Angela Anderson and her husband Robert of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Marlena Wheeler, Michael Wheeler and his wife Elizabeth, Tiffany Dodd and her companion Roger, Joshua Jenkins, Randa Anderson; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Jim Wheeler and his wife Marlea of Elkins; one sister, Shirley Akers of Lost Creek;  and Billy Joe Woods and his wife Jean of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by two sons, identical twins Matthew and Mark Wheeler; one grandson, Brandon Anderson; one granddaughter, Leonda Smith.; three sisters, Kathryn Hill, Bonnie Hockman, and Marie Carpenter; and two brothers, Tom Wheeler and Jack Wheeler.

Mr. Wheeler was a retired Fireman with the Clarksburg City Fire Department with over 20 years of service.  He was also a former member of the Clarksburg Lodge No. 482 B.P.O. Elks, Clarksburg Lodge No. 52 Loyal Order of the Moose, and American Legion Shinnston Post.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Wheeler will be cremated.
