Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, where Catholic Burial Rites will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11:00 am with Reverend Father Hilarion Cann presiding.   Cremation will follow, per Mr. Morgan’s request.

Gregory Alden Morgan, 58, of Country Club Road, Clarksburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2017. He was born in Clarksburg on August 22, 1958, a son of the late Roger John Morgan, and Margaret Poulanis Morgan who survives in Bridgeport.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Shamblin Morgan; three brothers, John Miles Morgan and his wife Lisa of Charleston, Andrew Mullens Morgan of Clarksburg, and David Conn Morgan and his wife Cindy of Collinsville, CT; five nephews, Skyler Sigman, Jackson Morgan, Max Morgan, Greyson Morgan and John Shamblin; one niece, Marlow Morgan; one great nephew, Kolton Shamblin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Greg was a 1976 graduate of Washington Irving High School, a 1980 graduate of West Virginia University, and a 1983 graduate of West Virginia University College of Law. Upon graduation, he worked in the WV Office of the Attorney General and in 1986 joined the law firm of Young Morgan & Cann, and was currently the Clarksburg City Attorney.  Greg was a member of the Harrison County Bar Association, the WV State Bar Association, Lifetime member of WVU Alumni, as well as a Host for the One & Nine, Board of Directors of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Harrison County, and was an avid skier.  He was Catholic by faith.
