  Family and friends may call at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:00 am with Reverend Father Kent Durig as Celebrant.   Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.  Full Military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

John David “Punkin” Terango, 89, of Stonewood passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the WV Veterans Nursing Facility following an extended illness.  He was born in Norwood on July 23, 1927, a son of the late James and Victoria Audia Terango.

 

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.   He is preceded in death by six brothers, Sam, Joe, Frank, Anthony, and Ralph Terango, and Joe (Pecks) Calvato; and three sisters, Flora Terango, Mary Seti, and Anna Terango Coberly.

 

Mr. Terango was a graduate of Roosevalt Wilson High School and the WV Business College.  He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.  He worked at the State Store in Salem, was treasurer for the City of Stonewood, and held various bookkeeping jobs.  John was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and was proud to sing in the choir and serve as an usher.  He liked to write poems and songs and enjoyed making “homemade wine”.

 

Family and friends may call at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:00 am with Reverend Father Kent Durig as Celebrant.  Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.  Full Military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8092 3rd Street, Stonewood, WV  26301, or the Serenity Garden Unit at the WV Vetarans Nursing Facility, 1 Freedom Way, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
