Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm where services will be held on Friday, August 09, 2019 at 11:00 am with Reverend Bonnie Starkey officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

John S. Wilson III, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, August 02, 2019 at his residence.

 

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on September 30, 1936 a son of the late John S. Wilson Jr. and Mary Griffey Sampson.

 

He is survived by his wife Jo Carol Ellis Wilson, whom he married on July 31, 1960; four children; Lynda Wilson Keith and husband Anthony of Durham, NC, Joni Wilson Harris and husband Stanley of Durham, NC, David Wilson of Durham, NC, Allyson Wilson Stephens and husband Kenneth of Raleigh, NC; eleven loving grandchildren; Alexandra, Joshua, Anthony Jr., Kendrick, Kayla, John, Tyrique, Samiiah, Azariel, Sydney, and Justin; one great-grandchild Joshua; one brother, Jack W. Wilson of Dallas, TX; and one uncle, Guy Carter of Skokie, Illinois.

 

Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Kelly Miller High School and an United States Air Force Veteran. He was a Lease and Right-of-Way Agent for Consolidated Natural Gas which he retired from with over 25 years of service. He was a member of Broad Oaks United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and a member of the choir. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Duke basketball, and WVU fan. He was a former affiliate of Clarksburg Jaycees.
