Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Orville Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.

Larry R. Fleming, 84, left his home on Chub Run to go to his eternal home on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2019. He was born on June 21, 1935 in Wallace, WV a son of the late O. W. “Jake” and Mabel Ashcraft Fleming.

 

He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Florence Ann Golden Fleming; son Roger Fleming and daughter-in-law Sherri, whom he referred to as his favorite daughter-in-law; their two daughters, Kaylynn Bolyard and her husband, Nick, and Courtney Fleming; a great grandson and the joy of his life, Linden Bolyard; and a dear granddaughter, Ashley (Rocky) Wamsley and her two children, Reese and Raven.
He is also survived by one brother, Loudin Fleming and his wife Joann of Wallace, WV; and two sisters, Jean Goshen of Waldorf, MD and Ruth Chase of Suitland, MD.

 

Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Vaughn; and three sisters, Jewell, Bernice and Marie.

 

Larry graduated from Wallace High School class of 1953. He was an excellent mechanic according to his customers, having worked for Firestone in Shinnston, P. K. Alker in Clarksburg, and retiring from Chenoweth Ford on June 21, 1996.

 

Larry faithfully served his country in the United Sates Army and earned an honorable discharge on February 26, 1964. He served most of his active duty in Okinawa.

 

He loved singing and had a beautiful tenor voice. He sang with various quartets and his wife during his ministry. Larry was ordained as a minister at the Baptist Church in Wallace and served that church for several years. He retired from East Clarksburg Baptist Church due to health reasons.

 

He loved working on the farm with Roger and his two tractors, Little Red and Miss Holly.
