Patricia Ann Helmick Longwell, 75, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Tygart Center in Fairmont.

She was born in Flint, MI on March 28, 1951, a daughter of the late James and Leatta Shingleton Helmick.

Patty is preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Hood, who passed away in 2000, and Roger Longwell, in 2024.

She is survived by two daughters, Melisha Thacker and husband James, and Marianne Helm and husband Marcus, all of Clarksburg; 12 grandchildren, Wesley Hood, II, Justin Marsh, Daniel Hood, Nick Hood, Josh Harbert, Aaron Harbert, Brittany Moore, Alexandra Clark, Nathan Helm, Haiden Thacker, Violet Thacker and Jace Thacker; two sisters, Pamela Moore and Mary Krasnican; numerous great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Trina Hood; and her furry companion, Skippy.

In addition to her parents and spouses, Patty is preceded in death by one son, Wesley Hood; one brother, Robert Helmick; and one sister, Janet Fincham.

Patty cleaned houses for a living and cooked for many restaurants over the years. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, entertaining, and shopping. She particularly loved spending time with her family.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will take place.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.
