Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at the conclusion of the visitation with Pastor Brian Plum presiding.   Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Lydia J. Carpenter, 88, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, following a brief illness.

 

Lydia was born March 19, 1928 in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of the late Dominick and Minnie Zippilli Fazzini.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, William A. Carpenter, whom she married on April 17, 1956.

 

She is survived by three daughters, Lois Messinger of Walnut Hills, Sandra Mayle and husband Larry of Salem, and Lisa Robinson and her companion Jerry Jenks of Nutter Fort; six grandchildren, Michael and Christine Messinger of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie Messinger of Walnut Hills, Brandon Mayle and Vanessa Mayle of Salem, Jack Robinson of Morgantown, and Jamie Robinson of Nutter Fort; one great grandchild, Sophia Faith Mayle of Salem. Also surviving are three sisters, Yolanda Shelhammer of Cross Lanes, Thelma Fazzini of Clarksburg and Elizabeth Biafore Smith of Dry Fork; three brothers, Bill Fazzini of Clarksburg, Phil Fazzini of Hamilton, OH and Paul Fazzini of Plymouth, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Fazzini and one grandson, Jeremy Mayle.

 

Lydia was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
