Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.  Mark will be taken to the Simpson Creek Baptist Church, 231 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Bridgeport WV, 26330, to lie in state for one hour prior to the service, which will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 am with Reverend Dr. C. Michael Hopkins officiating.  Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

Mark Anthony Mudrick, 43, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

 

He was born in Steubenville, OH on October 18, 1974, a son of the late Harry Thomas and Mary Linda Kosek Mudrick.

 

He is survived by his wife, Heather Jo Starkey Mudrick, whom he married on June 26, 2015; one son, Maddox Anthony Mudrick; six daughters, Morgan Alexandra, Kaitlyn Elizabeth and Isabella Grace Mudrick, and Madison Lynn, Emma Kate and Grace Elizabeth Hansberry; one brother, Mike Mudrick and his significant other Tammy Williams of Weirton; his mother-in-law, Judy Starkey of Bridgeport; his brother-in-law, Craig Starkey and his wife Jill; his sister-in-law, Allison Schirripa and her husband Robbie; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Al “Papa” Starkey.

 

Mark spent over eight years in the United States Navy separating from his final duty station in Norfolk, Virginia having achieved the rank of First Class Electronics Technician. While in the U.S. Navy, Mark spent time at several duty stations in the United States, Italy and the British Indian Ocean Territories, and was part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Resources from West Virginia University, a law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, and is also a certified electronics technician. Mark was a Registered Professional Landman (RPL) and recently gained his Certified Professional Landman (CPL) certification.  He was currently Director of Title, Project Manager, Curative – Noble Project and Project Manager – Confidential Client with Percheron, LLC, where he began working in July 2010.

 

Mark was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and a member of the Washington County, Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He was also a member and Registered Professional Landman, American Association of Professional Landmen (“AAPL”), and a member and Education Committee Chair, Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the AAPL.

 

Mark was Catholic by faith but had been attending the Simpson Creek Baptist Church.

 

Mark loved his family and was a very giving person.  Although his passing was untimely, his legacy will continue on.  As a final act of kindness, Mark was a donor through CORE, the Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
