Michael Samuel Fresa, 55, of Cocoa, Fl, passed away suddenly on October 6, 2016 at his residence.  Michael moved to Florida a few years ago to take care of his mother, but there was never a day he didn’t call everyone he loved.  He loved his son, family and friends more than anyone I know.  He passed away of a massive heart attack while preparing for the hurricane, only one more window to board up.  He chose not to evacuate because he wasn’t feeling well and leaving with his mother would have been too hard.  He took care of everyone, helped anyone that needed a hand and was always there with a beautiful smile.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV on February 15, 1961 a son of the late Edward Karl Fresa and Diana Colombo Fresa.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Samuel and Lenora Colombo, and Mike and Julia Fresa.

He is survived by one son, Gabriel M. Fresa, a student at Furman University in Anderson, SC, along with his mother Kati Fischer of Bridgeport.  Five brothers, Kevin Fresa and wife Heather of Florida, Mark Fresa and wife Michelle of Georgia, Karl Fresa and wife Dawn along with their children Kitt and Kendall, all of Illinois, Dana Fresa and wife Candice of North Carolina and Samuel Fresa of Georgia, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame High School, having then went on to graduate from the Pittsburgh Art Institute in Graphic Design.  He pursued his career in Florida having worked for NASA for 10 years. Wanting to be closer to his son, he moved back to Clarksburg and worked for Beacon Wealth Management.   With his son in college, and his mother’s health failing, he went back to Florida to take care of his mother, Diana, and pursue his dream of becoming a certified sea captain. He was currently owner and operator of Fishin’ With Fresa Charter Service. He was a catholic by faith.

Family and friends will received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no service and cremation services will follow.

Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.amoscarvelli.com .  A service of Amos Carvelli Funeral Home.
