Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Monday from 6-8PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Reverend George Heitman presiding.  Interment will follow in the Enterprise IOOF Cemetery.

Preston J. Kitzmiller, 92, lifetime resident of Allied, WV, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 07, 2017 at the Bridgeport Health Care Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Oakland, MD on July 25, 1924 the son of the late Howard Piggot and Bertha Kitzmiller.

He is survived by two children; David Kitzmiller and his wife Janie, of Bridgeport, and Richard Kitzmiller and his wife Janie of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Fleece and her husband Nick of Hurricane, WV, and Christopher Ryan Kitzmiller and his wife Valerie of Morgantown, WV; two great grandchildren, Sydney Fleece, and Nick Fleece; and three half siblings, Josephine Harvey and her husband Randal of Oakland, MD, Maxine Kerns of North Carolina, and Robert Piggot and his wife Bernadine of Colfax, WV.

Along with his parents, Preston was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Jane Kann Kitzmiller.

Preston was graduate of Lumberport High School. He was Baptist by Faith, and he loved to fish and hunt. Preston also enjoyed working in the garden. He was a proud member of the United Mine Workers Association, and was also a member of the First Aid Team at Owings Mines. He was retired from Consol with over 45 years of service.
