I would like to offer my condolences to SFC. Russell's family and friends on his passing. It hurts my heart that I will never have the opportunity to thank SFC Russell ( I just can't call him by his first name) in person for the many things he has taught me. Besides my Dad he has been the single most important influence in my life. He taught me how to be an effective leader and how to take care of those you are responsible for. I was young homesick stupid kid when I he was assigned to the HHC 3/63 AR Commo Platoon in Germany in1986. He saw this and took me home to his family for Christmas dinner. He made our platoon like a family. No one ever messed with his soldiers....ever. I have used the lessons he has taught me over and over again in my life. I will miss him dearly as I am sure anyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him.

Dear Judy and family, I am so sorry to read of Ronnie’s passing. I have known your family since the girls were in Girl Scouts. My mom loved both you and Ronnie and so enjoyed your talks when she’d run into you at the church. I never left a conversation with Ronnie without learning something. I cannot think of anyone who gave of himself more selflessly than he for his community and veterans. I enjoyed the evenings I’d run into him at the church after my troop meetings. I know he did so much for the church as well. I hope that in the coming days you’ll be able to find comfort in all the happy memories shared with him. I feel certain that my mom was amongst the many to greet him when he arrived in Heaven. I will keep you and your family close in thought and prayer and I feel certain Ronnie will be close by always watching over you all until you meet again. Peace be with you all.

So sad to learn of Ronnie\'s passing. He and I spent a lot of time together as children. I knew his mom and also Sam and Ethel when they all lived \"up the lane\" from us when we were living in my Grandma Courtney\'s house. We rode the school bus together and Ronnie got off at the Good Hope School while my brother, Gene, and I stayed on the bus and got off in West Milford. I guess Ronnie must have graduated from Unidis, but our family had moved away by then. I think he was in Vietnam when I got married in 1967, or it seems like someone told me that. So very sorry I never got to have a visit with him. We traded a few messages on Facebook and he told me I should come and check out the strawberry farm. Please accept my deepest sympathy. So sorry for your loss. May Ronnie have God\'s peace in eternity.
