Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm where funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Sherman Goodwin officiating.  Interment will be in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.

Sharon Dale Mounts-Toothman, 51, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 14, 2026 following a hard-fought battle with an extended and complicated illness.

Sharon was born April 26, 1975 in Clarksburg, WV, the firstborn daughter of Joseph R. & Marlene D. McIntyre Toothman.

Sharon is survived by her mother, Marlene of Stonewood; sisters, Maria A. Toothman of Clarksburg, Jolene R. Toothman-Mitchell of Stonewood, and Bobbie J. Toothman of Stonewood as well as her cousins that were raised as her brothers, Charles Collings of Texas , Gray Christ of Texas, and Timothy Crist of Ohio; the love of her life, W. Matthew Mounts of Alderson, WV; nephew Brian J. (Kylee) Mitchell of Clarksburg; and nieces, Kathleen D. (Timothy) Mitchell of Sistersville, WV and Rhiannon A. Haller of Clarksburg, WV.  Sharon is also survived and will continue to be adored by her great nephews, Wesley A. & Parker J. Mitchell and great niece, Amelia R. Sisson.  In addition to this, Sharon is survived by her paternal grandmother, Patricia A. Toothman and maternal grandmother Sharon Fazio-McIntyre as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Sharon is also survived by extended family Delilah Mounts, James & Loretta Mounts and their children Adam, Miah, & William, Joshua and Laura Mounts and their children, Erica, Lucas, & Jacob, and Ethan Mounts.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Joseph R. Toothman Jr.; great nephew, Leviathan T. Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Myrna S. Fitzpatrick McIntyre and Carl W. McIntyre; paternal grandparents, Mary J. Goodrich Toothman and Joseph R. Toothman Sr.; maternal great grandparents Coy L. & A. Hester Davis Fitzpatrick.

Sharon will also surely be greeted in Heaven by her beloved pups, Zoey Dale, Sparkle, and Batty who crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her.

Sharon will be remembered for her kind and loving heart.  She dedicated years of her life to caring for those around her, even choosing to do so in her professional career as caregiver for those with intellectual disabilities. Sharon served as a light in the darkness for many, always lending a helping hand and putting others before herself. She was a genuine and true soul who always made sure that those around her felt love and belonging. Sharon had an uncanny way of making people smile even in challenging situations. She was a true friend to many and always there when needed.

Sharon will be forever missed and her memory cherished by her family, friends, and those who loved her most.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital and United Hospital Center for the care and compassion that was extended to Sharon and our family during this heartbreaking situation.  The family also extends deep appreciation for Reverand and Mrs. Sherman Goodwin and family for continually being the hands and feet of Jesus and answering our spiritual needs.
