Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, where Catholic Burial Rites will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 am with Reverend Father Akila Rodrigo presiding.   Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be accorded.

William “Bill” Joseph Fragale, age 86, of Clarksburg, departed this life Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport following an extended illness. He was born April 16, 1930 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Sam Fragale and Chaira Basile Fragale.

 

His wife, Lucille Barbara Lopez Fragale, whom he married October 6, 1968, preceded him in death March 23, 2014.

 

He is survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and extended families.

 

Bill was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having also been preceded in death by his siblings; Bernard “Pete” Fragale, Catherine Fragale Merandi, John Fragale, Frank O. Fragale, Anthony P. Fragale, Christine Fragale Scolish, Samuel Fragale and Eugene Joseph Fragale.

 

Bill was a 1948 graduate of Washington Irving High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a former salesman for Central WV Wholesale Supply for over 20 years.  He went on to retire from the VA Administration, Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center where he also worked for over 20 years in housekeeping.  He was a member the Clarksburg Elks, and attended St. James Catholic Church.  He enjoyed theater, traveling and various sports, especially watching his nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces in which they participated.
