William Steven “Steve” Winters, 58, of Nutter Fort, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born in Clarksburg on November 10, 1958, a son of the late William Garfield and Betty Jean Lawrence Winters.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Perkins Winters, whom he married November 15, 2008; one step-daughter, Ellie Aviles and her husband Jonathan of Nutter Fort; one brother, Matthew Winters and his wife Lisa of Parkersburg; one sister, Cathy Summerlin and her husband Ben of Moultree, GA; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Perkins of Clarksburg.

Steve was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School, was employed as a supervisor with the City of Nutter Fort, and was a former volunteer with the Nutter Fort Fire Department.
Steve was well known throughout the city of Nutter Fort, and was known to help anyone he could. He was everyone’s friend. Steve loved his hunting, fishing and his cold beer.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm to conclude the gathering with Pastor Jerry Garrett presiding. A private inurnment will be held in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
