It's been 1 year since I've failed you, Mr. McElwain. I didn't even find out until a week later on the 20th. We all love and miss you. I wish it could've been me instead. Mrs. McElwain misses you everyday. I wanted you both to live and die together so that neither of you would be lonely like she is; mourning her husband. I don't deserve to hang your picture in my room, but it's a nice constant reminder of whom I failed. I will carry this until the day I finally die, Mr. McElwain.

I'm so sorry. I failed you. You trusted me and I failed you. I swear, I prayed day and night, before every meal, and before bed, for you to recover and live out the rest of your days with your wife. I got most of my friends to pray and people of faith online to pray, but it seems to have all fallen on deaf Godly ears. If can only beg your forgiveness and pray your rest easy now. You will be missed beyond comprehension... Grandad. ✝

Uncle Lee☺️,I know you are going to be missed beyond words, my heart hurts for all the heavy hearted, but, I know There was a Great Celebration when you walked into HEAVEN and I can just imagine all the Family that has gone before you, Rejoicing as they welcome you Home. Then, ushering you, I Believe Jesus himself took you right to that precious baby girl and Oh the Joy of that reunion! Now here on earth you ARE missed but only a little while and We Shall all have the Best of Reunions, spending time together, because, this Life separated us, but Eternity Never will end, Glory to God. I love you too! 💕Sonja

Lee and Regina were some of the first people we met when we came to Stealey Assembly of God in 1989. His laugh was contagious and we shared so many fun times together! I’m sure Larry and many others who have already made it home, welcomed him with open arms the same as he welcomed us to the Church family as well as their earthly family!
