Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Private services will be held for the family with Pastor Kenny Kendalll presiding. Benjamin Oliver Riley, age 74 of Clarksburg, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday May,22, 2020 at his home surrounded by family following an extended illness. He was born on September 25, 1945 to the late Orville Denver Riley and Donzella Mollohan Riley in Clarksburg WV. His wife, Carol Ann Frame Riley preceded him in death on June 22, 2015

Ben was survived by his four children, Gloria Butcher and her husband Dana of Clarksburg, WV, Beth Burnside and husband Denny of Clarksburg, WV, Benjamin Riley of Savannah Georgia, and Steve Riley and his wife Missy of Clarksburg, WV.

Five grandchildren, Dillon Burnside, Hanna Burnside and her fiancé Nate Fernandez, Chase Butcher and his wife Alissa, Madison and Mason Riley, all of Clarksburg, WV. In addition, one great granddaughter, Riley Rae Butcher.
Four siblings, Loretta Lynch of Clarksburg, WV, Viola Earnest and her husband Chuck of Clarksburg, WV, Denver Lee Riley of Clarksburg, WV and Donna Terango and her husband Jim of Stonewood, WV, along with several nieces, nephew , brother and sister in law and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Ben was preceded in death by an infant sister, Gloria June Riley; his sister Frances Reed; and brother in law Harold Reed and Jim Lynch.

Ben was a graduate of Victory High School. He was heavy equipment operator for 30 plus years and worked with various construction companies in the area helping to build Route 50 and the Meadowbrook Mall to name a few of the projects he worked on. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to hunt and fish and he passed this tradition down to his grandchildren. Later in life, he enjoy gardening and spent time helping other. Above all, he loved his family especially his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He was a Christian by faith and member of the North View Methodist Church.

We would like to send special thanks to Beverly and Kenny Kendall who were dear friends and to Dr. Maurice Rhodes who was always there for him.

Family and friends will be received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 4-8 PM. A private family service will be held with Reverend Kenny Kendall presiding with interment at the Greenlawn Memorial Park.
