Delphia Virginia Davis Harris, 87, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at her residence following a brief illness.

 

She was born in Clarksburg, on October 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Jasper Ernest and Maude Smith Davis.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward Harris, on February 12, 2000.

 

Mrs. Harris is survived by one son, Timothy Harris and wife Valinda of Laurel Park: one stepson, Steven Marshall Harris and wife Laura of Harper’s Ferry, WV; two grandchildren, Justina Tate and husband Frank of Laurel Park and Jennifer L. Queen of Laurel Park; three great-grandchildren, Dane Tate, Anthony Queen, and Trey Queen; survived by her sister, Mertha Murl Richardson; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three nieces who she felt a closeness with, Ruth Spellman, Arlene Wolfe, and Clover Lovell.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by seven siblings, Joan Poling, Walter “Buck” Davis, Norval Davis, Lewis Davis, Alice Davis, Helen Davis and an infant brother.

 

Delphia was a graduate of Victory High School Class of 1951 and retired from Anchor Hocking.  She was a Charter Member of the Oakmound E.C. Church where she was active in various church activities.  She enjoyed her family and liked making crafts.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN   38015.
