Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Friday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm.   Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend Robert Wilson and Reverend Bryant Bailey officiating.   Interment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.

Josephine Lenora Houchin Gain, 86, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born in Owings, WV on March 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Dremas David and Edith Mae Wilt Houchin.  She was married to Harold Wilson (Gainsey) Gain, who preceded her in death on August 9, 2012.

Surviving are five sons, Harold Eugene Gains and his wife Judy of Sun Valley, Timothy Gain and his wife Sheila of Clarksburg, Perry B. Gains and his wife Shelley of Hackers Creek, Aaron Lee Gain and his wife Dina of Clarksburg, and Michael D. Gain of Clarksburg; two daughters, Susie Jo Williams of Clarksburg and Tammy Jean Miller of Clarksburg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ellis “Buck”, Luther, Charles “Jiggs” and Russell Houchin; three sisters, Pearl Phillips, Marie Riley and infant sister “Virgie” Lucille Houchin; one grandson, Jason Gain; and one great granddaughter Brenna Sue Compton.

Mrs. Gain was a 1948 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School.  She was formerly employed at Johnson Hardware and ran the Arlington Grocery Store owned by Harold and Josephine Gain.  She woned the Original Sun Valley Market and was the owner and operator of Farmer Dots Dairy King.  She was also secretary of McCrory’s Five & Dime.  She was caregiver for her mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister, and many other family members.  She had a heart of gold, a giving spirit and was always there to help those in need.
